The Indonesian immigration authorities have deported 92 Chinese nationals following an official request from the Chinese government. These individuals were involved in illegal online gambling activities and investment schemes in Batam.

As part of the deportation process, the Indonesian authorities have permanently banned these individuals from re-entering the country. The Chinese government has taken responsibility for their return, sending a delegation to escort them and covering all associated costs. The deportees were flown back to Guangzhou on a night flight on July 5.

Additionally, the Indonesian authorities have handed over criminal cases related to these individuals to China. The Chinese side will handle the prosecution and cover the legal expenses. Under Chinese law, those charged with organizing gambling could face up to five years in prison, and in aggravated circumstances, penalties could increase to ten years along with fines.
