AGEM Index Sees 3.5% Monthly Growth in April 2026

The AGEM Index experienced a notable increase in April 2026, climbing by 51.64 points from the previous month to settle at 1,523.84. This rise translates to a monthly growth of 3.5%. The uptick was driven by positive stock price movements in five out of the nine companies included in the index, resulting in six positive contributions and three negative ones.

This monthly growth coincided with a strong performance in major U.S. equity markets. The NASDAQ surged by 15.3% in April, while the S&P 500 saw a 10.4% increase. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also showed positive momentum, rising by 7.1% compared to the previous month.

However, despite the gains in April, the AGEM Index remains lower than it was a year ago. When compared to the same month last year, the index has declined by 218.45 points, equivalent to a 12.5% decrease.

Aristocrat Leisure Limited emerged as the top positive contributor to the index's performance in April, with its stock price increasing by 4.3%, which added 53.53 points to the AGEM Index. Crane NXT, Co. also made a significant positive impact, with a stock price rise of 10.1%, contributing an additional 7.93 points to the index.

On the downside, Konami Corp. recorded the largest negative impact, with its stock price dropping by 2.2%, which led to a reduction of 6.24 points in the index.

The AGEM Index is compiled monthly by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers and features nine global gaming suppliers. Of these, five are based in the United States and are traded on the NYSE, Nasdaq, or OTC markets, while three are listed on the Australian exchange and one on the Tokyo exchange.

The index is calculated using the stock prices at the end of the month, adjusted for dividends and stock splits, and is weighted according to market capitalization approximations. For companies listed on foreign exchanges, market capitalizations are converted to U.S. dollar equivalents at month-end for consistency. The index was established with a baseline value of 100 points in January 2005.
