The Hong Kong police have arrested 29-year-old adult actress Erena So on suspicion of promoting an unnamed iGaming operator that is illegal in Hong Kong. According to police reports, So appeared in a promotional video for the operator during the backdrop of the 2026 World Cup, and her image was featured on the operator's website with the caption 'invited goddess'.
So was apprehended in the Sham Shui Po area and later released on bail with the condition to report back to the police by the end of July. Before her arrest, she claimed in response to media inquiries that she believed the brand was legal, citing its registration in Malaysia, and stated that its promotion was aimed at audiences outside of Hong Kong.
Following the publication of local media reports, the operator removed promotional materials featuring her from its website. After her release, So has completely denied any connection to the brand.
