Indian Cyber Police Bust Illegal Online Betting Network

The cyber police of Visakhapatnam, India, have conducted an operation against an alleged illegal online betting network. This network reportedly operated through various applications, including Ultrawin, Fairplay, Cricway, and 4Ra Book.

According to the investigation, 224 bank drop accounts were involved in the scheme, with the network's turnover estimated at a staggering $41.7 million over six months. The operations spanned across several cities, including Bengaluru, Raipur, Pune, Goa, and Kolkata, as reported by the Deccan Chronicle.

The police commissioner stated that a total of 24 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, with player losses estimated at $156.3 million. As per Hans India, the foreign applications were allegedly managed through operational infrastructure in Goa, with links disseminated via Telegram and other social media platforms.

In April 2026, Kolkata police apprehended the suspected organizer of the network, Karan Pakhri (Gabbar), along with several associates. Authorities seized mobile phones, laptops, bank and checkbooks, passports, and crucial digital evidence during the operation.
