Royal Caribbean has successfully completed a five-week drydock refurbishment of its flagship, Harmony of the Seas. The ship has returned to service with significant enhancements in entertainment, dining, and guest areas, including the largest casino within the entire 28-ship fleet.
The renovation features a completely reimagined layout, particularly expanding the gaming area. Designers have revamped crucial sections of Deck 4’s entertainment zone to accommodate these changes.
As part of the upgrade, several long-standing venues were removed, including the Attic comedy club, to make room for a much larger casino floor. This new space boasts approximately 37 table games and over 500 slot machines, surpassing the casino offerings found on newer Royal Caribbean ships.
Some guest areas were relocated during the refurbishment. The popular Crown Lounge has been moved to Deck 15, taking over the previous teen club space and providing stunning panoramic ocean views.
In addition to gaming upgrades, the ship has seen extensive improvements to its leisure and social spaces. The pool decks have been transformed into a Caribbean-inspired outdoor area, centered around the cruise line’s signature multi-level bar, The Lime & Coconut.
The dining options have also expanded, introducing new casual and specialty venues, including a complimentary walk-up Mexican restaurant and a premium Brazilian steakhouse. Entertainment and nightlife have been revitalized as well, featuring a large sports bar, an arcade, and a new tiki bar concept that replaces the former robotic cocktail stations.
To increase capacity, nearly 100 new staterooms have been added to the ship’s structure, including forward-facing panoramic suites located above the bridge, which offer breathtaking floor-to-ceiling ocean views.
Harmony of the Seas has now resumed service, operating summer itineraries throughout the Western Mediterranean, with stops in Spain, France, and Italy. Following its European voyages, the ship is set to reposition across the Atlantic to Port Canaveral, where it will commence year-round sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean.
