On August 21, the police in Daejeon, South Korea, concluded their investigation into a robbery case involving six men who posed as investigators to rob the owner of an unnamed iGaming website.
The assailants entered the operator's office at night, assaulted the owner, and stole $23,300. Although online gambling is illegal in the country, the police did not report any charges being filed against the website owner.
According to the investigation, the group planned the attack after learning that large sums of money were being accumulated at the operator's office in Daejeon. The whereabouts of four suspects were tracked based on their movements, while the remaining two were apprehended two weeks later in Daejeon and Okcheon.
