Genius Sports has announced two significant agreements with Kalshi and Polymarket, enhancing its footprint in the prediction market industry. These partnerships will provide both exchanges with official sports data, marketing support, and integrity services.
Under these agreements, both platforms will utilize Genius Sports' data for settling sports contracts, with a particular focus on soccer. The deal with Polymarket also grants them exclusive rights to live stream selected competitions on their U.S. platform, along with league intellectual property.
These announcements coincided with Genius Sports' upcoming second-quarter financial results, which are set to be released on Thursday morning. Details regarding the financial aspects of the deals have not been disclosed.
Kalshi will benefit from real-time official data across Genius Sports' entire soccer portfolio, which includes prominent leagues such as the English Premier League, Serie A, Liga MX, Argentina’s Primera División, and France’s Ligue 1. This data will serve as the official source for settling sports contracts, reducing reliance on unofficial information.
Furthermore, Kalshi will engage in Genius Sports' integrity information-sharing processes, which include restrictions on specific market types to enhance transparency in trading activities. Genius Sports will also offer marketing and media services through its owned properties.
Adam Barrick, Head of Sports Partnerships at Kalshi, emphasized the importance of utilizing official data and integrity services as the prediction market landscape grows rapidly.
On the other hand, the deal with Polymarket, while similar in nature, includes additional elements such as live streaming rights for select official competitions. Eligible users in the U.S. will have the opportunity to watch certain matches alongside real-time event contracts, particularly focusing on the Italian Serie A.
Polymarket will also leverage Genius Sports' official data for determining market settlements and will participate in the integrity information-sharing system, which will enhance visibility for leagues and governing bodies regarding market activities.
Ari Borod, President of Sports Business Development at Polymarket, highlighted the critical role that live streaming, official data, and integrity infrastructure play in creating a reliable and engaging product for customers.
This agreement marks another step in Polymarket's broader strategy to build sports infrastructure partnerships, as they continue to collaborate with various leagues and organizations.
