The Global Gaming Expo (G2E), organized by RX and presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA), has revealed an additional main stage session dedicated to addressing the challenges posed by prediction markets. This session is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at 1 p.m., with doors opening at 12:45 p.m.
Titled “A United Front: Confronting Prediction Markets Together,” the session will gather leaders from the gaming sector, labor unions, and Congress to explore how prediction markets affect state and tribal gaming industries.
Bill Miller, the AGA President and CEO, will serve as the moderator. Key speakers include Gwen Mills, President of UNITE HERE, Rodney Butler, Chairman of Mashantucket Pequot, and Congressman Steven Horsford.
Miller emphasized the necessity of collaboration across the industry to safeguard the state and tribal gaming markets, their workforce, consumers, and the communities they support. He stated, “In light of the aggressive invasion of prediction markets, our panel of leaders will demonstrate our collective strength.”
The discussion will cover the repercussions of prediction markets on state and tribal gaming, along with strategies related to legal, political, and public policy measures to defend gaming sovereignty and regulatory power.
Mills highlighted the unity among UNITE HERE, the tribal gaming sector, and commercial gaming in their efforts to eliminate illegal prediction market gambling. “This is a crucial moment for us to unite as a coalition against an unprecedented threat. Prediction markets endanger the jobs of casino employees nationwide,” she remarked.
She added, “Our members include casino housekeepers, bartenders, servers, cooks, and dishwashers. Together with responsible gaming employers, we have established a union standard that ensures fair wages, access to affordable health care, and dignified retirement. We are now united for a shared purpose – to uphold Tribal, state, and federal laws while protecting jobs.”
Horsford pointed out that Nevada's gaming regulations serve as a benchmark for the industry and criticized the tactics of prediction markets in relation to sports betting and casino gambling. “Nevada has set the gold standard for gaming regulations. Prediction markets are merely gambling disguised as innovation. They exploit our youth, jeopardize Nevada's hospitality jobs, and undermine the integrity that ensures honesty in the gaming industry. That’s precisely why Nevada is pushing back,” he stated.
He further mentioned, “My bipartisan Prediction Markets Are Gambling Act aims to prevent federally regulated trading platforms from disguising sports betting and casino-style gambling as 'financial products.' You cannot reap the benefits of the gaming industry without adhering to its regulations.”
Previously, G2E had announced its main stage programming for September 29 and 30, which includes Miller's keynote address, a CEO panel moderated by CNBC's Contessa Brewer, and a discussion featuring Wayne Gretzky and BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. On Wednesday, Global Gaming Women will host activist Elizabeth Smart for a dialogue on workplace resilience.
The educational agenda for G2E features over 100 sessions and more than 300 speakers. The next event is scheduled to take place from September 28 to October 1, 2026, at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, expecting attendance from over 25,000 industry professionals across more than 120 countries and nearly 400 exhibitors.
