FSB Charges Telegram Founder Pavel Durov with Terrorism Support

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has charged Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, with aiding terrorist activities under Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code. The agency has also placed him on an international wanted list.

According to the FSB, the messaging platform's administration failed to comply with demands to remove several channels, chats, and bots, including a dating service called Dайвинчик.

In response to the FSB's decision, Telegram's official account on X shared an archival photo of Durov giving the middle finger, without any comments. As of the time of this publication, Durov had not made any statements regarding the accusations.

In light of this news, the Gram token (formerly known as Toncoin), associated with the Telegram network The Open Network, saw a decline of 3.26% over the day, dropping to $1.41.
