FanDuel Gains Approval for Multi-State Online Poker in Michigan

FanDuel has received the green light to broaden its online poker services in Michigan through a multi-state framework, set to take effect on April 1, 2026.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) confirmed that FanDuel fulfills all necessary criteria to operate multi-state internet poker. This authorization enables the company to provide shared gameplay among players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB, remarked, “FanDuel is a prominent player in Michigan's gaming landscape. Players in Michigan can trust the integrity of the games they engage in, supported by the rigorous oversight that the MGCB applies to all licensed gaming activities.”

In Michigan, FanDuel will present its poker offerings under the PokerStars brand, with MotorCity Casino serving as the local operational partner.

Michigan joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) in 2022, which allows states involved to merge their online poker player pools. Current participants include Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Prior to its MSIGA membership, online poker in Michigan was restricted to players within state lines. The MGCB has indicated that further information, including the Multistate Poker Submission Form, can be found on its official website.

The regulator emphasized that this approval promotes lawful and regulated gaming while ensuring responsible gaming practices and oversight across all licensed operations.
