On July 15, Evolution, a leading provider in the iGaming industry, reached an agreement with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) to pay £4.75 million (approximately $6.36 million). This settlement concludes a licensing review that began in December 2024.
The primary reason for this action was the availability of Evolution's games on six websites operated by two unnamed operators, who were accepting British players without a local license.
According to Evolution, both operators deliberately circumvented regulations. However, the 18-month review did not reveal any systemic practices of unauthorized access to the provider's content. The company terminated its collaboration with these operators immediately upon discovering the violations.
The CEO of Evolution described the situation as unacceptable and welcomed the conclusion of the review.
