Everton's Sheriff Accused of Betting Violations by FA

The Football Association (FA) in England has accused 20-year-old forward Martin Sheriff of the Everton youth team of breaching betting rules. This accusation stems from 61 bets placed by Sheriff on football matches between November 20, 2024, and February 12, 2026.

Sheriff is required to respond to the allegations by August 17. He faces potential penalties, which could include a fine or disqualification from the sport.

Stake, a cryptocurrency casino, has been the main sponsor of Everton FC for four seasons. However, starting from the 2026-27 season, the operator's logo has been moved to the sleeve of the team's kit due to the Premier League's ban on gambling brand advertisements on the front of jerseys.
