In Estonia, iGaming operators, exempted from tax due to a legislative error, have voluntarily transferred over €1.4 million to the Ministry of Finance as of March 18, according to ERR.
In February, the amount received was €815,000 (including income tax), while in March, it reached €595,000. Some operators have expressed their intention to pay amounts for two months at once, and the Ministry of Finance anticipates additional payments.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the calculated tax amount for January and February, without the error in the law, would have been €3.5 million, slightly lower than the initial estimate of €4 million. The annual forecast suggests that revenues from online gambling taxes could reach €27 million.
