In Australia, former NRL rugby league player and TikTok influencer Luke Bateman testified at parliamentary hearings on August 3, stating that representatives from unnamed gambling companies systematically supplied him with drugs and alcohol, according to The Guardian.

Bateman revealed that his gambling addiction resulted in losses of around $700,000, with debts exceeding $175,000.

He shared that VIP managers sent him personal bonuses, took him to races in other states with free alcohol and food, and offered to bring drugs before trips. At a private event hosted by one of the companies on the Gold Coast, he claimed that top executives, including the CEO and founders, consumed drugs alongside clients.
