The Dutch regulator, KSA, has ordered the Costa Rican iGaming operator BoomerangBet to cease operations without a license. The company faces a weekly fine of €457,000 (approximately $530,000), with a maximum penalty cap of €914,000 (around $1.06 million).
During an inspection, the regulator found that there were no technical measures in place to restrict local players' access to the product. The KSA calculated the fine based on the costs of a Dutch licensee, estimated at €800,000, and the operator's two-week Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), which they assessed at €228,000 for January 2026, according to search query volumes.
