DraftKings has been utilizing an AI model for three years that identifies players who, on average, lose more than the bonuses they receive, according to a report by The New York Times, citing internal documents and interviews with over 40 former employees.
The investigation revealed that the model assesses players based on their elasticity, meaning their susceptibility to bonuses and promotional offers. Internal documents from early 2024 indicated that slot players were found to be the most susceptible to these promotions.
DraftKings has denied any allegations, stating that promotions are directed towards players with consistent engagement, rather than based on their losses.
