On April 30, the crypto casino Dicey launched a temporary mode called Red or Blue in its instant game Coinflip, featuring a prize pool of $15,000 for 72 hours. This new mechanic is inspired by a viral YouTube post by the blogger MrBeast from April 28, which presented a collective action dilemma.
In this game mode, players choose one of two sides, place their bets, set the number of presses, and establish a minimum to win. The system then reveals the results of the pressing series on a grid of red and blue buttons.
All bets made by participants over the 72 hours are summed up for a team score. If the blue team wins, the $15,000 prize is evenly distributed among all participants. In the case of a red team victory, $9,000 is shared only among the players of the red team.
