The legislative assembly of Buenos Aires, Argentina, has passed a law that restricts access to iGaming products for individuals who are in debt for alimony payments. This significant move was confirmed by its author, Deputy Leandro Santoro.
According to Infobae, operators are now required to automatically check users against the Public Registry of Alimony Debtors before registration. If a match is found, access will be denied. Existing accounts of such players will be immediately blocked, with notifications sent to both the registry and the court handling the collection case.
The ban encompasses the opening and management of accounts, placing bets, making deposits, and withdrawing funds, as well as using products from the city operator LOTBA.
