The Ministry of Justice in Brazil has issued a decree outlining the process for confiscating funds blocked from illegal iGaming operators. The ministry estimates that the total amount of these funds exceeds $194 million.

The decree came into effect on September 4, following its publication in the official publication Diário Oficial da União.

As part of the procedure, the regulatory body SPA will transfer materials related to the blocked accounts to the National Security Secretariat (Senasp). Subsequently, Senasp will notify the operator, who will have 15 days to raise objections and present evidence.

After the administrative stage, the materials will be sent to the Attorney General's Office (AGU) for court proceedings, which will approve the confiscation and direct the funds to the National Security Fund.
