On April 30, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced that participants in the debt restructuring program, Novo Desenrola Brasil, launched on May 4, will lose access to licensed iGaming operators for one year.
This decision comes as part of the government's efforts to manage the economic challenges faced by the country.
In a related report, Brazil's tax authority, Receita Federal, revealed that tax revenues from the licensed iGaming sector reached $684.8 million in Q1 2026, marking a significant increase of 123.7% year-on-year.
