A Brazilian court has mandated internet service providers across the country to block access to the iGaming brands of operator Pixbet, which include Pixbet, GanheiBet, and Bet da Sorte. The court also imposed a hefty fine of $914,000 on the company for failing to comply with regulations aimed at restricting underage access to gambling.
In July, the same court had ordered Pixbet to either suspend operations of its brands or confirm the implementation of biometric and facial verification systems that would automatically block accounts of underage users. Since Pixbet did not meet these requirements, the operator has been accruing a daily fine of $19,400 since July 18. Previously, the regulatory body SPA had already suspended betting activities for the mentioned brands due to the lack of tools to identify players at risk of gambling addiction.
