In Canada, iGaming operator BetRivers (Rush Street Interactive) has set a Guinness World Record by assembling the world's largest slot machine, standing at an impressive height of 4.88 meters. The construction took nearly a month, and on July 17, a representative from Guinness World Records officially recognized the achievement during a presentation at the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton.
The operator timed this event to coincide with its launch in Alberta on July 13, coinciding with the opening of the local regulated iGaming market. Alberta has become the second province in Canada, after Ontario, to allow private operators in the online segment.
The giant slot machine is located in a fenced area designed to resemble a gold rush theme, where visitors aged 18 and over can play without any monetary contributions and win prizes, including a real gold bar. During the opening, promoters also encouraged guests to register for an account on the product using tablets, as reported by industry sources. The installation will remain operational until the end of December.
