Rush Street Interactive has officially launched its BetRivers online casino and sportsbook in Alberta, making the platform accessible to players aged 18 and above via ab.betrivers.ca and the BetRivers mobile application.
Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce our award-winning platform and player-centric approach to the vast community of gaming fans in Alberta." He further noted that BetRivers has established itself as one of the most highly-rated and trustworthy casino apps in Canada, as evidenced by positive ratings and feedback from players in Ontario. "Alberta marks the next chapter in our journey, and we are committed to delivering a top-notch experience from day one, ensuring that BetRivers becomes the preferred casino choice for Canadian players," Schwartz added.
The BetRivers platform offers a variety of engaging experiences for players in Alberta, featuring gamified elements like Rush Packs and Wheel Spins, as well as Slot Tournaments and other promotional activities integrated into the player journey.
Brian Sapp, Chief Marketing Officer at Rush Street Interactive, emphasized their focus on enhancing player enjoyment: "We strive to make every moment more dynamic, entertaining, and rewarding. With a diverse selection of classic and exclusive games and an intuitive platform, we are dedicated to providing continuous entertainment and satisfaction for our players."
For its launch in Alberta, BetRivers has rolled out a marketing campaign themed around the province, featuring brand ambassador Dan O'Toole dressed in western attire, embodying the "new casino in town" concept. The campaign maintains the brand's signature irreverent style while introducing BetRivers to Alberta.
BetRivers first entered the Canadian market with its Ontario launch in 2022 and has since adopted a casino-first strategy to expand its reach.
Alberta's regulated commercial iGaming market opened at midnight on July 13, making it the second Canadian province, after Ontario, to allow private online sports betting and casino operations under provincial regulation.
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) has registered 50 operators, 58 critical gaming systems providers, and 14 platform providers. On the opening day, over 15 operators were anticipated to launch alongside the government-operated Play Alberta platform, with others expected to join later after establishing commercial agreements with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC).
In addition to BetRivers, the list of registered operators includes well-known brands such as FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, bet365, PointsBet, Betway, 888, theScore Bet, Hollywood Casino, Bally’s, Pure Casino Entertainment, and River Cree iGaming.
