In a recent investigation, BBC Scotland discovered that 16 links on the website of the Scottish Borders administration directed visitors to pages featuring illegal online casinos operating within the country, including the Indonesian operator Joyslot88.
Following inquiries from journalists, the administration promptly removed these links but did not provide any further comments regarding the situation.
According to the report, fifteen of the domains belonged to local non-profit organizations on the regional web service Online Borders. Eight years ago, the Scottish Borders administration shut down Online Borders, leaving the domains available for new owners, who subsequently used them to host collections of unnamed iGaming operators.
