Arizona Approves Nine Locations for In-Person Sports Betting

Nine venues in Arizona have received the green light to provide in-person event wagering, following the issuance of limited event wagering operator licenses by the Arizona Department of Gaming, effective September 11.

The approved venues include Turf Paradise Racetrack located at 1501 West Bell Road in Phoenix, Boston's Bar & Grille at 1730 East Elliot Road in Tempe, Connolly's Sports Grill at 2605 West Carefree Highway in Phoenix, Harold's Cave Creek Corral at 6895 East Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek, Red Zone Sports Grill at 8110 West Union Hills Drive in Glendale, R.T. O'Sullivans at 7575 North 16th Street in Phoenix, R.T. O'Sullivans at 6646 East Superstitions Springs Boulevard in Mesa, The Nest North Sports Grill at 5843 West Thunderbird Road in Glendale, and Trophy Bar at 2551 West Queen Creek Road in Chandler.

These limited event wagering licenses allow operators to conduct retail sports betting in collaboration with a racetrack or an off-track betting location that possesses a permit issued by the Division of Racing.

The Arizona Department of Gaming has partnered with local businesses and American Wagering, Inc. (operating as Caesars Sportsbook) and Skyfall 7 LLC (operating as Turf Paradise) to distribute the nine licenses. The department has indicated it will assist the licensees as they prepare for their operational launch.

In July, Arizona announced it would start accepting applications for an additional 10 limited event wagering operator licenses for retail sports betting in partnership with racetracks or off-track facilities, beginning August 13.
