AGEM Index Sees Significant Decline in February 2026

The AGEM Index experienced a notable drop in February 2026, decreasing by 194.49 points to settle at 1,621.50, which marks a 10.7% decline from January. Year-over-year, the index also fell by 8.9%, translating to a decrease of 159.12 points compared to the same month last year.

This downturn was largely driven by the majority of companies monitored by the index reporting reductions in their share prices. Out of the nine gaming equipment manufacturers included, eight experienced stock declines, resulting in eight negative contributions and only one positive.

The most significant contributor to the index’s decline was Aristocrat Leisure Limited, whose stock price plummeted by 10.2%, leading to a 71.94-point reduction in the index. Additionally, Konami Corp. had a considerable negative impact, with its share price dropping by 7.3%, causing a 53.04-point decrease.

On a brighter note, Ainsworth Game Technology was the sole company to report a positive movement, with a 1.4% increase in its stock price, contributing a modest 0.12 points to the AGEM Index.

In the broader market, the United States saw mixed results during the same period. The NASDAQ Composite Index fell by 3.4% in February, while the S&P 500 experienced a slight decline of 0.9%. Conversely, the Dow Jones Industrial Average managed a small gain, rising by 0.2% compared to the previous month.

The AGEM Index is compiled monthly by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers and tracks the performance of nine global gaming suppliers. Of these, five are based in the U.S. and are traded on the NYSE, Nasdaq, or OTC markets, while three are listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and one on the Tokyo exchange.

The index is calculated using the month-end stock prices of each company, adjusted for dividends and stock splits, and weighted based on an approximation of market capitalization. For companies listed on foreign exchanges, market capitalizations are converted to U.S. dollar equivalents at month-end to maintain comparability.
