76-Year-Old William Hill Client Suffers Heart Attack After Jackpot Error

A 76-year-old client of the iGaming operator William Hill, John Riding, suffered a heart attack just ten days after a malfunction in the Jackpot Drop mechanism credited his account with £285,700 ($378,000).

According to reports from The Mirror, the funds disappeared within a day without explanation. In the following days, Riding unsuccessfully attempted to contact customer support to regain access to his account, only to find a note indicating manual adjustments and a refund of £15.40 ($20). His family stated that the stress from this situation was the cause of his heart attack.

William Hill confirmed the issue with the Jackpot Drop and stated that they are in the process of returning the mistakenly credited funds in accordance with their user agreement. Additionally, it was reported that 50 affected clients have approached the law firm Ellis Jones Solicitors, which is considering a class-action lawsuit.
